Hurray for Earth Day!

Every year when Earth Day comes around there is an influx of beach/park/neighborhood clean ups, tree planting, and outdoor activities all of which are fun and helpful to our environment. It’s great to see so many people participating and taking time to give back. But, sometimes life gets in the way and time disappears before the thought of a community clean up even gets penciled in to the calendar. For those with little time, I propose an Earth Day Reflection… take a couple of minutes to reflect on your green habits you’ve started this past year…

Ad2SD Extreme Website Makeover Day

Last month Treeline hosted Ad2SD‘s extreme website makeover day in which we got together a team of 10 members to develop and launch the new Ad2 website.

We would like to thank everyone that was involved and we will be keeping you informed as the site continues to evolve. For anyone that doesn’t already know, AD2 is a national networking group for young professional in the advertising and marketing industry.

2009 Addy Award Winners!

We're not sure where to put these things yet so we figured we would have them pose naked outside the office.

Friday night was the 2009 San Diego Addy Awards at the Coronado Marriott, it was a great evening of top notch wining and dining. All of the major agencies were there and the Ad Club did a awesome job of pulling off a fabulous show. There was a ton of impressive work displayed and all of the winning entries were quite remarkable.

Treeline Interactive came home with three awards, a bronze and a gold in the interactive categories and more notably the Judges Award. Apparently the Judges Awards is not given every year, rather it is an extra award that the judge can present for works that truly knock their socks off. In this case it was the interactive mountain bike map we did for Northstar at Tahoe resort. Here is what the judges had to say about the piece…

“The Northstar mountain bike trail map.
So many moving parts.
So many details.
So many opportunities to do it wrong.
And yet, everything was just right.
It just worked, exactly the way you’d want it to.
When something is designed this well, it feels effortless.
Like it wasn’t designed at all.
You’ve got to work really hard to make it look that easy.

Our entries will now advance to the regional competition next month. Big thanks to everyone who helped make this happen and to Northstar at Tahoe for keeping the fun projects rolling in! It is hard to not do a great job when you are dealing with clients and subject matter that you love so much.

We would also like to thank, the beautiful Heather Myers from San Diego 6 for doing a great job as the show MC. Tonya Mantooth for the awesome visuals. MJD interactive for all web work behind this event. Brent Altomare of Groovy Like a Movie for hosting the Addy’s Raid and putting together a great slideshow of that event.

Addy’s Gala Dinner Awards

Treeline has qualified for the 2009 San Diego Creative Show with one or more winning entry. Have we won the highly sought-after golden statuette? Or maybe “Best of Show”? Well, they haven’t told us yet and we will just have to cross our fingers(please cross your fingers too!) The winners will be announced at the gala dinner tonight.

As winners, our work now qualifies to advance to the AAF District 15 competition. So hopefully we have won a couple gold metals otherwise some silver and bronze sound just fine. The creative and interactive community in San Diego is so very talented for such a small city. It’s a great honor to display our work among the other skilled professionals & agencies in our area.

Busy Saturday

Well it is another busy Saturday at the office. Sometimes it is tough working in San Diego; even though it is mid winter and seemingly a great time to hunker down and get some work done it is a sunny 70 degrees day outside.
Despite the good weather, the office was bustling today with projects of all sorts. Adam, Gary, Alicia and I were working on the new Ad2SD website & extreme website makeover day video. Don was working on the new Promotive Media Project client management system. Jeff was busting out on iPhone app updates. George was making some upgrades to his openGL nVeil video plugin and then Casey & Mo took a couple minutes out from their fun at the Liquid Foundation block party next door to come by and say hi.
We all would have loved to be soaking up the sun and having some outdoor fun but in the end of the day stuff has to get done. It is very nice though when your work is something that you enjoy enough to come in on the weekend and be productive.

New Treeline Office

Treeline Interactive has just opened a new office in Mission Beach, San Diego. The new office is located at 3725 Mission Blvd across from Guava beach. The office includes a sizable main workspace room, an outdoor conference area & a multimedia/recording studio. We will be posting some more updates and pictures and we get more settled in.
